SKITTLE ALLEY, LANCASTER HOLE

After several trips to the downstream sump some bolts were placed for a safety line up a muddy rift traverse above the sump to several old and dubious stemples and a high boulder choke. One boulder was remodelled and a two metre long hole entered to remove more boulders. An attempt to climb above the boulder choke led to more of the same boulder choke. The surface feels to be reasonably close here. The bolts have now been removed; the old stemples should be treated with caution. The sump was also dived to a conclusion. It makes for an energetic trip even without the extra breathing apparatus.
