GINGLING SINK, Fountains Fell, Yorks. SD 857.702

16th September, 1979
Diver: R.J. Shackleton.

The sump was found in a low cobble floored bedding at the base of a narrow 1.5 m deep rift. 4.6 m of low thrutching led to the sump proper and after a further 3 m the passage dropped down a bedding into a low chamber, from which all routes forward were choked. This sump is quite hopeless!
