Cambridge University Caving Club

Newsletter #7 --- 25 November 1997

The week that's been

In the interests of producing a short newsletter, everyone abstained from doing anything interesting... except Wookey and Steve who sneaked off to do some surveying in South Wales.. but they're keeping it quiet.

Club dinner in Yorkshire

Weekend of 6/7th December, week after Yorks II and end of term. Dinner in the Marton on Saturday. Accomodation: camping or caravans. Caving too! Get in touch with Jeremy soon - even if the dinner gets booked-up it still will be a great weekend to head up to Yorkshire.

Cheers,

Jeremy & Jonathan

YORKS II

YORKS II IS HERE.... NOV 29-30. Sign up tonight (Tuesday) - we need to know numbers (cars, drivers, accommodation, etc).

Fermanagh

Fermanagh 1998? If anyone is interested in a possible trip to Fermanagh around Easter1998, could they please e-mail Stephen Jones (saj24@cam.ac.uk) or otherwise let me know fairly soon. If there is sufficient interest I will start looking at possible costs, dates etc. Fermanagh offers a great variety of caving with relatively few cavers meaning that the caves are fairly unspoilt. The problem is that, to quote the guidebook author, there is "t@!s all to do when it rains", so we'd have to be a bit flexible ("it's going to rain, lets go elsewhere" seems a sensible attitude).

Cheers

Steve Jones

Lunch is at: Paul Hammond's Flat 6 St Michaels Court 1-2PM Thursday (Caius --- opposite the porters)

That's all folks!!
